That’s a lot of rubbish! I have to say though that I’ve seen quite a few Coots’ nests amongst rubbish, particularly on the edges of the Thames and have wondered if for some reason known only to them, they might do it deliberately?

Hmmm, is that because rubbish accumulates in places where they like to nest perhaps? Can’t think why they’d choose to nest amongst it.

Neither can I, but I guess their perception of what’s around them is different to ours; we see rubbish, but what do they see?
