A new Spring flower has appeared in my local area, this time six bursts of the bright sunshine yellow that is Coltsfoot, the flower that appears before its leaves. I had just been sheltering, rather ineffectively, from a short sharp shower of rain when I spotted the flowers beside the path ahead of me. What a delight!

It’s very pretty. Is it related to Dandelion?

Both plants are members of the large daisy family but I think the similarities are superficial, as the way they grow is quite different.

It does your heart good to see that cheery yellow doesn’t it? I brought in some of my Wallflowers yesterday, they smell so delicious too.

As soon as I read Wallflower, I could smell them – lovely! My mother used to grow them for the house, so I know the scent well. 🙂
