The wet and windy weather may have passed but now it feels more like proper winter, with daytime high temperatures in single digits. Still, there are wildflowers to be found in bloom, some that we would usually see in a couple of months time rather than this early in the year. These sixteen are those I found on a walk around the outskirts of my town yesterday and this morning.

This is a big thank you for all the posts you have sent out in the last year. I’m involved in conservation and supporting nature as a volunteer and get very disheartened at times to say the least. O always look forward to reading your posts as do my wife and my sisters. My father, now 92 and housebound, loves reading them too and it gives us something to talk about with him.
Amazing to see how many wildflowers you managed to find at this time of year.
My own goal for 2024 is to see a lesser spotted woodpecker, here’s hoping.
