‘If all mankind were to disappear, the world would regenerate back to the rich state of equilibrium that existed ten thousand years ago. If insects were to vanish, the environment would collapse into chaos.’
~ E. O. Wilson (1929 – ), American biologist, environmentalist, author
again, great photos, and a timely warning in the quote – we are esp. aware of the challenges bees face in our poisoned environment. Keep on your splendid photo campaign to keep us aware – and appreciative of the beauty of small beasts, birds.
Simon.
Thanks for your kind words, Simon. 🙂
Exactly (re the quote). And I love the photos and the ‘mini beasts’! 🙂
Thanks, Val. Yes, Mr Wilson nailed it!
Didn’t you do well with your minibeasts. How accurate E O Wilson was.
Thanks, Joyce. The sunshine and warmth that day helped – I’ve lucked out on other recent days, and my various insect-finding groups agree that we’re about 3 weeks behind ‘normal’ for this time of year.
