Though we did have a blue-sky day yesterday, it’s been a long, grey, wet winter; earlier this week one Scottish city, Aberdeen, was celebrating seeing the sun after 21 days of its absence! The weather’s not been that dismal here in south Wales but it’s been dreary enough to make the sight of spring flowers even more heartwarming than usual. So, today here’s some multi-coloured flower-power Crocuses to brighten your day!

Hi Annie, love the photos! I’ve been enjoying the crocuses up here (Wye Valley) as well.
I was going to write you a longer email but couldn’t find an email address, so I hope you see this comment!
Your blog is a source of endless inspiration as well as information, so really I just wanted to say thank you! I’ve finally been getting into the little stuff this winter, and many of the most interesting things I’ve found have been from searching for them after reading your blog posts about them.
You’re now indirectly responsible for several extra county firsts, mostly in Radnorshire, but this weekend’s Holm Oak Gall Mites seem to be new for Breconshire, and I wouldn’t have known to look for them if I hadn’t read your post from 4 years ago recently.
Thank you again, keep being amazing, and bring on spring!
Sam

What a wonderful message to wake up to! Thank you so much, Sam, for taking the time to write. I’m delighted to have been the inspiration behind your finds and to know you’re out there looking for the little stuff. That’s exactly what I hope for when I write my blog posts. All the best … and keep on searching! π
