You know Spring has well and truly arrived when the insects start appearing in reasonable quantities so, judging by the numbers of insects I’ve seen on my walks over the past two days, I would say Spring has most definitely sprung, wouldn’t you?
Another strange phenomenon on the same side of the house happens around autumn when dozens of caterpillars of the Large White butterfly climb up the outside of the house to reach the eaves.
Lovely collection, Annie. I haven’t seen much insect activity yet. Longing to get the macro lens on again. I have had loads of Ladybirds in my home for a few weeks now, most of them Harlequins but not all. I see more inside my home than I do outside :-/ Perhaps they all die before reaching the outside.
I’ve heard people talk about having large quantities of ladybirds in their homes but it’s not something I’ve ever seen. Your home must be wonderfully cosy, Joyce. 🙂
Ha! It is very cosy, Annie. What I do find curious is that they seem to make their home in windows that are facing west. We have windows that face east, south and west, but they only seem to appear in the rooms that face west. Now there lies a puzzle.

I’m beginning to think your house is a little spooky, Joyce, but in a nice way! 🙂
Haha!

A puzzle indeed. If it were north or south (for cold or hot), I would understand. I wonder what happens in other people’s houses.
