The occasional smatterings of rain we’ve had in the last few days have eased, ever so slightly, the drought conditions hereabouts, and the flush of new growth that was evident during this morning’s early walk through the fields at Cosmeston included my first Common spotted orchids of the year. Superb!

Common Spotted’s are also found just off the cycle paths on Coryton roundabout.

That roundabout has been a favourite place for my explorations in previous years, for the orchids and much more besides. 🙂

How beautiful.
We had a cloudburst yesterday – I was downstairs, doing the birds when it happened so I was marooned in the garage for almost 15 minutes. I got very chilly.

Sorry to read of your stranding but I hope the rain was welcome.
