Sorry if my title offends some of you but it can be difficult to put into words how much I adore these stunning creatures.
When first the Peacock and then this Comma, within a few minutes of each other, flew across my path and settled in the sunshine for me to admire and photograph, I felt as if I might burst with happiness. The beauty of these creatures speaks to my soul!
Still waiting to see a butterfly, just keeps raining here. Lovely pics.

Thanks. I’m up to 4 species now but the other two have been camera shy, so far. π

Bizarrely, just a couple of hours after commenting on your post I finally saw my first butterfly of the year, a very battered Comma. So it’s official, spring has arrived here too!

Good to hear your butterflies are go, though it looks like weather may be turning wintery again for a few days.

Oh my I love Butter Flies π I collected 40 different ones in 1970 for my biology protect then entered in the Minnesota State Fair for a blue ribbon π

Forty is a big number – you were lucky to have so many species. Of course, these days most of us would prefer to see them alive, rather than included in a biology project, but well done on your blue ribbon!
